2008 Kids & Teens Classes - New Day and Times
The classes will now be on a Thursday afternoon. Kids 6-9 years 4pm to 4.40pm. Teens Beginners 10 - 16 years 4.45pm and the Teens Improvers 14-16 years 5.30pm. Venue is still at Howard Hall, Whitewood Rd Howard Springs. Cost is still $10.00 per class.

Brand New Teachers
Due to work and study commitments, Kylie and Michael will be handing this part of the teaching in 2008. We have asked Janelle Cantrill - a dance school (Australian Dancesport trained) and her eighteen year old son (Hip Hop specialist) to take over the classes. Janelle is Latin American, Ballroom and New Vogue trained. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge that will only benifit the kids and teens in the rural area. Janelle and all of her family dance. They are full of energy, very nice people and have great dance skills.

Hand Over to New School
"Janelle Cantrill - a dance school" will commence on Thursday 31st January 2008 (1st school term). Kylie and Michael will be there to hand the classes over to Janelle and to wish all our students the best for their dancing in 2008. Janelle Cantrill Ph: 89271128

Class Content
We have given Janelle the syllabus and explained what the students have been learning at Howard Springs. Janelle has assured me that she will continue to teach Salsa and she will also introduce Latin American, Rock N Roll, Performance Dance and Ballroom. Her eighteen year old son is a keen Hip Hop Dancer and he will be also be contributing to the classes.

Other Class Alternatives
Salsita Dance School runs Mini Salsa (8 to 15 years) on a Saturday morning at Charles Darwin University in the student lounge building 31. Time 10am to 11am. Cost $10.00. Classes commencing 12th January 2008. We have spoken to Joao and advised him that some of our students may be attending his classes. He welcomes all of our students to join in.

Alternately the older students are very welcome to attend our adult classes on a Tuesday evening at 6.30pm at St Mary's Football Club, Marrara, cost $14.00 (which many of you are already doing). These will commence again on the 29th January 2008.

Personal Note
It has been very hard for us to make the decision to hand over this component of our school. We have been teaching our salsaKIDZ and salsaTEENZ since 2005 and some students have been with us from the beginning. We also appreciate all the help that has been given to us by the parents and the community (grants).

However work and study commitments have now consumed a lot of time and something had to give. We feel confident we have sought the appropriate teachers to take over and we are sure the students will benefit greatly. We (Kylie and Michael) will continue to drop in from time to time.

Thank you to all the students and parents for your support since 2005. We hope you continue to enjoy your dancing and look forward to seeing you in our adult classes in the future. Please come to the Salsa Christmas Party this Sunday so we can catch up with you all before the end of 2007.
